Description of activity
Class 1: Once the EducArt platform, project and theme of Communication have been presented, students study the text related to the theme found on the platform. Students watch the videos featuring Véronique Leduc, Mathieu Dugal and Jasmin Roy. Using an iPad in teams of two, students explore the platform and the section on the theme of Communication.
Classes 2 and 3: In smaller groups, students review the works related to the theme found on the EducArt platform. They complete a heuristic diagram on the theme of Communication. Students share an appreciation of each of the artworks and produce preliminary drafts of their piece in response to these works.
Class 4: Students engage in a period of research, in teams. In smaller groups, they select one of the artworks related to the theme of Communication. They look for information on this work and the artist who created it. They answer a set of specific questions formulated by the teacher to help them better understand the work and the socio-cultural issues implied therein.
Class 5: Students take part in a creative session. Students compose a musical composition using the artwork selected from the EducArt platform as their starting point. They produce a composition of approximately one minute in length.
Class 6: Students write a reflective text on the composition and present it to the class. Students then share an appreciation of all the new musical works.
