Class 1: Once the project and the EducArt platform have been presented, students read and study the text related to the theme found on the platform. Students share an appreciation of the works found on the platform. Students watch the videos featuring Chloé Sainte-Marie and Mattiusi Iyaituk. In smaller groups, students complete a heuristic diagram on the theme of Family.

Class 2: Students share an appreciation of the postcards sent by the students in Ivujivik. Students study the following poetic styles: prose poem and haiku. Students complete a composition exercise for each of these styles.

Class 3: Students take part in a creative session. Students compose a prose poem and a haiku; their starting point could be an artwork found on the EducArt platform, or they could take their inspiration from the artworks produced by the students in Ivujivik on the theme of Family.

Class 4: Students finish their work and write out their poems neatly. They present one of their two poems out loud to the class. Then they send their poems to the students in Ivujivik.

Class 1: Once the project, EducArt platform, instructions and work sheet prepared by the teacher have been presented, students read and study the text related to the theme found on the platform. Students share an appreciation of the works found on the platform. In smaller groups, students complete a heuristic diagram on the theme of Family. Students watch the videos featuring Chloé Sainte-Marie and Mattiusi Iyaituk. Students discuss the video content.

Class 2: Students share an appreciation of the postcards sent by the students in Ivujivik. Students identify expressions used in the postcard messages. In smaller groups, students write a synopsis on the theme of Family. Students take into account the keywords and the subtopics suggested by the artworks found on the EducArt platform. Students consider how they might explicitly or implicitly incorporate these expressions or keywords into a piece of dialogue about twenty lines long.

Classes 3 and 4: Students take part in a creative session. In smaller groups, students write a synopsis for a scene of dialogue. Students write the dialogue as well as the stage directions for the scene. Students translate the dialogue into English.

Class 5: Students fill out the work sheet neatly. The submission should include a copy of the dialogue in French, a copy of the dialogue in English, and a presentation page that includes a family photograph.

Class 6: Students present the completed project to the class in an oral presentation. Students send the scenes they have written to the students in Ivujivik.

Students articulate an artistic point of view, based on the artworks found on the platform related to the theme of Family.

Class 2: In a group, students study composition (rule of thirds) and framing (angle values), based on the works found on the EducArt platform. Students complete a set of exercises based on these concepts. Individually, students carry out experiments at various locations around the school (indoors and outdoors) to complete these exercises. Students review the completed work.

Class 3: In a group, students study focus and light, using the works found on the EducArt platform as their starting point. Students complete a range of exercises based on these concepts. Individually, students carry out experiments at various locations around the school (indoors and outdoors) to complete these exercises. Students review the completed work.

Class 4: In an individual piece of writing, students explain the subject they have selected for their final photograph and the process or method they will use to complete the desired composition as it relates to the theme and to the artworks found on the EducArt platform. They have a trial run to test the process or method.

Class 5: Students take part in a creative session: a group outing to several locations around the community, so that they can take photographs on the theme of Family.

Class 6: Students choose their favourite photographs (up to three) or those they find the most meaningful. For each photograph, students write a label that includes the title of the work, the name of the artist and the year it was taken. In a group, students review the photographs and explain their connection to the artworks found on the EducArt platform and to the theme of Family. Students relate the text written on the theme in English class to one of the photographs selected for their postcard.

Class 2: Students review the works found on the EducArt platform. Students select their four favourite artworks related to the theme of Family found on the platform. In smaller groups, students complete a heuristic diagram based on one of these four works, in order to extract as much information as possible about this theme.

Class 3: Students take part in a creative session. After sharing their appreciation of the selected work, students write a short opinion text that starts with, “Family is...,” or they write an acrostic in connection with the selected work. The work produced will be used for a project in Visual Arts class.
